SUMMARY:Dialogue on the protection of humanitarian and healthcare workers in armed conflicts
DESCRIPTION:Humanitarian and healthcare workers often operate in some of the most dangerous environments\, including conflict zones\, where they are increasingly exposed to violence. Despite international humanitarian law providing them with both general and specific protections\, the frequency and severity of attacks against them have escalated in recent years. In 2023 alone\, over 563 humanitarian workers were killed\, kidnapped\, or injured — a grim record that highlights the growing threats they face. \nJoin us on September 17\, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm\, for a panel discussion that will raise awareness of the critical challenges confronting humanitarian aid workers and explore actionable solutions to strengthen their protection as they deliver vital services to vulnerable populations. \nAttend here!
