DESCRIPTION:Cette année\, nous sommes fiers d’annoncer que l’événement Chaque enfant compte passe d’une journée à une semaine complète de programmation sur la vérité et réconciliation. L’activité virtuelle sans précédent de l’année dernière a attiré plus de 500 000 élèves\, enseignants et membres du grand public. Ensemble\, nous pouvons miser sur le succès de Chaque enfant compte et poursuivre la conversation sur les Traités des Premières Nations\, les revendications territoriales des Métis et Inuits\, et le système des pensionnats indiens. \n  \nQuand? \nEn raison de la pandémie de COVID-19\, la Semaine de la vérité et réconciliation aura lieu en mode virtuel du 27 septembre au 1 octobre 2021. \n  \nÀ quoi puis-je m’attendre? \nLa programmation comportera de courtes vidéos créées par des conteurs autochtones\, suivies par des conversations avec des aînés\, des gardiens du savoir\, des survivants et des enfants des survivants des pensionnats indiens. Les vidéos seront accompagnées d’activités à faire en classe avec les élèves. Nous présenterons des performances artistiques et culturelles des artistes des Premières Nations\, Métis et Inuits tout au long de la semaine. SUMMARY:Feminist Leadership\, Movement Building and Rights Institute
DESCRIPTION:Feminist Leadership\, Movement Building\, and Rights Institute\, organized by CREA\, is a five-day residential training in Hindi. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic\, the Institute will take place online. \nThis training program is designed to strengthen feminist leadership\, advocacy\, and strategies for increasing organizational strength and movement for social change. The Institute is for women working in all non-governmental organizations in India and for activists who work on  women’s issues\, and currently in senior or mid-level organizational leadership roles. \nParticipants and Selection Criteria \nThe call is open to people who have at least two years of work experience on issues of gender\, women’s rights\, development\, or youth\, and identify as women. \nParticipants must be able to access online/zoom. Participants can also use a laptop\, computer\, or smartphone. A total of 20 participants will be accepted for the training on the basis of their application. \nCost of Participation \nThere is no course fee. \nCREA will pay the cost of internet recharge of up to Rs 500 to the participant. \nVenue and Dates \nOctober 4 – 8\, 2021\, Online (Zoom). \nApplications are due on or before September 12\, 2021. Applications received after the last date will not be considered. Confirmation will be sent to ONLY selected candidates between 20 – 22 September 2021. \nNote: The selection process will be done on a rolling basis. SUMMARY:EM2030 UN World Data Forum Webinar - Gender Data Gaps
DESCRIPTION:Equal Measures 2030 is convening a webinar in the context of the UN World Data Forum that explores how demand-driven partnerships have addressed gender data and accountability gaps. The webinar will highlight good practices and lessons in establishing data collaboratives or partnerships with women’s and girls’ rights organizations that have explored addressing gender data needs in relation to different themes (e.g.\, education\, health\, violence\, etc.) and efforts to address or close these data gaps. The webinar will present innovative partnerships between grassroots organizations and national statistical offices\, academics\, multilaterals and amongst other grass roots organizations. \nThe event will be moderated by Ashley Monson of the Tableau Foundation and she will pose a series of questions to a diverse set of panelists that will aim to elicit practical lessons they faced in both the process and outcomes of their initiative and collaboration with gender advocates in data production or use. DESCRIPTION:IATI’s second Virtual Community Exchange (VCE 2) will take place on 12 – 13 October 2021\, from 12-3pm UTC and will feature two days of informal\, interactive and community-led sessions. \nRegister by 11 October\nThe VCE 2 is free to attend\, fully virtual\, and is open to all IATI Community members and others with an interest in the field of open development data or transparency. The event will provide opportunities for shared learning based on practical experiences in working with IATI data\, with a focus on community-led sessions. SUMMARY:Building Forward Better: Advancing SRHR for Climate Adaptation and Resilience
DESCRIPTION:Discussions around climate change and sexual and reproductive health rarely occur in the same spaces\, despite ever growing evidence showing that they should. Climate change threatens human health and rights—and has a disproportionate effect on the most vulnerable girls and women\, in all their intersecting identities. True climate justice is not possible without considering gender equality—and true gender equality is only possible when sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) are fully realized.  To be ready to deliver in a crisis\, governments\, donors\, and development actors need to lead emergency preparedness for SRHR. \nAhead of COP26\, the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference\, this timely virtual event will convene a diverse group of member states\, UN entities\, civil society organizations\, and other key stakeholders to drive evidence-based dialogue and critical action on the  under discussed yet urgent need to integrate SRHR in gender responsive strategies to adapt to climate change. \nOpening Remarks:  \n\nWendy Morton\, UK Foreign\, Commonwealth and Development Office\nHon. DESCRIPTION:The McMaster Global Health MSc Program and Mac Med Global Health Committee are proud to present the McMaster Global Health Conference 2021: “Narratives in Global Health” taking place on October 30th\, 2021! \nThis theme reflects the idea that we have collective and individual experiences within global health and that global health issues faced by individuals have a shared impact on everyone regardless of national borders. The conference seeks to highlight unique individual stories and share new perspectives. We hope to engage attendees to explore and critically think about ways we can acknowledge our duties and responsibilities as global citizens. Throughout the conference\, we will explore the interplay of various Sustainable Development Goals\, particularly SDG 3\, 10\, 13\, and 16 – good health and well-being\, reduced inequalities\, climate action\, and peace\, justice\, and strong institutions. \nOur keynote speaker is Dr. Caesar Atuire\, a philosopher and bioethicist with the University of Ghana. He a founding member of the Ghana Research Ethics Consortium and a member of the Planning Committee of the Global Forum on Bioethics in Research\, 2020.
