SUMMARY:Collecting and leveraging data to inform programming for LGBTQI+ populations
DESCRIPTION:Join CanWaCH for a weekly series of data-focused events to mark World Sexual Health Day and Gender Equality Week 2024! \nCurated Conversations: Leveraging Data to Inform Programming \nCanWaCH is committed to creating an environment for practitioners to gather\, discuss challenges\, share best practices\, and exchange knowledge. To further promote this\, our curated conversations will provide a dedicated open space for participants to engage in dialogue\, share projects and ask questions. \nEach conversation will start with a short discussion between experts in the sector. They will set the context by identifying gaps and challenges in data collection on a specific thematic area\, and opportunities to better leverage data to inform programming. Participants will then move to breakout rooms to engage in deeper discussions\, which will be facilitated by the speakers. \nPlease note that you have to register for each event individually. \nSeptember 25 from 11 am to 12:00 pm ET: Collecting and Leveraging Data to Inform Programming for LGBTQI+ Populations \nOn September 25\, join us from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. EDT for an in-depth discussion on how governments and development and humanitarian organizations can collect and leverage data to serve LGBTQI+ populations. The discussion will place a focus on improving health programming. Speakers will share methods for collecting LGBTQI+ data and discuss ethical guidelines and legal constraints. They will also explore strategies for collaborating with LGBTQI+ advocates and organizations to understand and adapt to local contexts. \nIn breakout rooms\, participants will focus on how to leverage this data to ensure that programs effectively meet the needs of the LGBTQI+ communities they serve. They will also discuss other challenges and solutions in addressing these needs in their programs. \nRegister here! \nSpeakers: \n\nJulio Lopez\, Cofounder of Datalat Foundation\nAndrew Park\, Senior Advisor\, Inclusive Development at Outright International\nPatrick Mwesigye\, Program Manager at Hope for Refugees International\nJuana Alonso\, Head of Programs at Égides – Alliance internationale francophone pour l’égalité et les diversités
