The Health Excellence Research Alliance (HERA) is a CanWaCH initiative that harnesses the power of research to advance the health of women, in all their diversity. HERA connects people, ideas and institutions committed to improving health outcomes through evidence, innovation and collaboration — in Canada and around the world.

HERA is the home of our work with the Pan-Canadian Women’s Health Coalition, a national network of 10 research hubs addressing critical gaps in women’s health. As the Coalition’s Coordinating Centre, CanWaCH ensures that the hubs’ work is connected, accessible and impactful.
It also includes the Canadian Collaborative for Global Health, which brings Canadian and global partners together to co-create solutions to urgent health challenges.
As HERA grows, it will continue to support research-driven projects that push boundaries and deepen impact — creating a strong, connected foundation for health equity at home and abroad.
