Know our team

Nutrition International’s External Relations (ER) unit is a diverse team of dedicated professionals with extensive global experience in advocacy, policy influence, government relations, and communications. The unit leads, coordinates, and supports global government relations, global advocacy, business development with institutional donors, and corporate and digital communications. The ER unit works closely with other teams across the organization to grow and diversify resources for Nutrition International’s global strategy and Investment Case, drive thought leadership, and grow global support for nutrition, and Nutrition International. The ER team is located in Nutrition International’s Headquarters in Ottawa, Canada, with dedicated counterparts within our Regional Offices in Africa and Asia.

About you

You have a bachelor’s degree in International Development, Public Affairs, Political Science, or a similar field. You have 7 years’ of progressive experience working in government relations, advocacy, stakeholder relations or partnerships, and at least 2 years’ of experience in a management position. You are someone who has substantial experience developing and implementing advocacy strategies, at an international or national level.

About the role

In this role you will be:

  • Designing and implementing global advocacy activities and strategies and working closely with regional and country level teams to deliver coordinated global plans.
  • Designing and implementing a global thought leadership strategy for Nutrition International, to increase the organization’s share of voice, influence and impact.
  • Advising and directly supporting the Director, Global Advocacy on the advocacy landscape, opportunities, strategies, and decisions, as well as managing a growing advocacy portfolio and team.
