The Jane Goodall Institute of Canada is part of a global community conservation organization that advances the work of Dr. Jane Goodall, with a vision of a healthy planet where people live sustainably and in harmony with animals and a shared environment.
Inspired by our founder’s legacy of inspiring hope through action, we use community-centered conservation to mobilize action on the convergence of three crises: biodiversity loss, climate change, and environmental inequity in Canada and in “Chimpscape” regions of Africa.
JGI Canada has worked for many years on maternal, newborn and child health projects in the Eastern DRC, in partnership with local civil society organizations and governments. JGI Canada is currently implementing a 4-year Climate change adaptation and mitigation project in Senegal in partnership with JGI Senegal, with funding from Global Affairs Canada.
