SUMMARY:Applying behavioural science for climate adaptation and water security: Discussion of the BASIN Research Project
DESCRIPTION:Presenters: \n\n\n\nJulie Truelove\, Head of Policy and Advocacy\, WaterAid Canada\nDr. Rohit Ramchandani\, Innovation and Strategic Partnerships Officer\, United Nations University Institute for Water\, Environment and Health (UNU-INWEH)\n\n\n\nDate & Time: December 9\, 2025\, by 12 to 1 p.m. EST \nRegister here: https://tinyurl.com/caghcch \nThe webinar will explore emerging findings from the BASIN research project and tap into the intersection of climate and health for discussion of potential future applications. \nThe behavioural adaptation for water security and inclusion (BASIN) research project is exploring the potential of behavioural and psychological science perspectives to contribute towards enhanced climate adaptation for water security. Adaptation is behaviour change yet the potential for application of behavioural science models in the context of Burkina Faso\, Tanzania\, and Malawi remains largely unexplored. \nCentred on five research questions\, BASIN is examining the determinants influencing sustained engagement of community climate and water champions\, uptake and use of climate information\, and adoption of adaptation behaviours at local and national levels through 11 case studies.

SUMMARY:Webinar: Addressing NTDs for the Health of Women and Adolescent Girls
DESCRIPTION:CAGH is collaborating with the Canadian Network for Neglected Tropical Diseases (CNNTD) for International Development Week 2022 to host a webinar addressing the impact of NTD on the health of women and adolescent girls. \nDid you know that more than 500 million adolescent girls and women of reproductive age (including over 100 million pregnant and lactating women) are at risk of morbidity caused by worm infections\, especially soil-transmitted helminth and schistosome infections? \nJoin us and our speakers to learn more about the Kigali Declaration\, WHO’s NTD road map\, and WHO’s new deworming guidelines: set to launch in early February 2022 to promote regular deworming treatment for adolescent girls and women of reproductive age. \nRegister Now!

SUMMARY:Canadian Conference on Global Health: Rethinking partnership paradigms in global health
DESCRIPTION:The 27th annual Canadian Conference for Global Health calls for a shift in partnership paradigms in global health in order to achieve the complex and integrated social\, health and environmental goals set out in the SDGs. \nWhile there are many paradigms for partnership\, CCGH 2021 will provide a platform to highlight different partnership models at local\, national and international levels and understand how they contribute to equitable and sustainable outcomes. Specifically\, how have partnerships demonstrated tangible improvements to health and how they have facilitated the spread of social\, health and environmental improvements? How do partnerships impact the lives of those that work within them and how do they benefit other organizations or communities outside of the partnership? \nRegistration is available in two formats: \nIn-Person\nThe CCGH will accept a limited number of people in person at the Delta Hotel in Ottawa. The number of in-person attendees will depend on public health guidelines. At this time we will accept 85 registrations and any further will be waitlisted. Note that due to the limited number of spaces we will only be offering full registration for in-person delegates. \nCOVID-19 Note: In-person attendees will be asked at check-in to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination OR provide proof of a negative COVID-19 antigen test taken within 48 hours. \nVirtual\nThe CCGH will offer virtual registration for the hybrid program to an unlimited number of people. \nScholarships\nScholarships are offered that are intended to encourage the participation of people with lived experience and support representation from disadvantaged and under-represented communities\, as well as people working in Community-Based Organizations whose work is focused on supporting these communities – see if you qualify! All content of the CCGH will be archived for registered delegates for 3 months post-event. \nStudent and Young Professional Scholarships\nThe Canadian Association for Global Health (CCGH) is pleased to offer a limited number of scholarships to attend this year’s CCGH virtually. The scholarships will be awarded to eligible CAGH members to cover the cost of registration for online participation. \nApplication deadline: October 31\, 2021\, at 11:59 pm EST. The review team will provide applicants with a decision on their application by November 5\, 2021\, at 5:00 pm EST. Please note that only successful applicants will be contacted. If you have further questions\, please e-mail sypcoordinator@cagh-acsm.org \nRegistration is now open\nPlease complete the form below to register for the Canadian Conference on Global Health. A confirmation email will be sent to you once completed: \nhttps://csihevents.org/ccgh2021/registration
