SUMMARY:Launch of Global Health 3.0: CIHR’s Framework for Action on Global Health Research\, 2021-2026
DESCRIPTION:On behalf of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR)\, we are pleased to announce the launch of Global Health 3.0: CIHR’s Framework for Action on Global Health Research\, 2021-2026. This Framework was developed through an extensive consultation process that engaged over 400 researchers and stakeholders to better understand Canada’s challenges and opportunities in global health research. \nThe COVID-19 pandemic underscores the importance of working globally to overcome health problems that transcend borders. CIHR’s Framework for Action on Global Health Research recognizes that globally shared risks require global collective action and collaboration to accelerate health equity for all. \nThe Framework seeks to leverage Canadian research excellence to achieve big impact\, foster alignment\, and strengthen capacity in global health research. Over the next five years\, CIHR will focus its global health research activities in three key areas: \n* prevention of non-communicable diseases;\n* sex\, gender and health; and\n* health emergencies. \nWe will continue to leverage Canada’s research strengths and established domestic and international partnerships to make meaningful impacts and support evidence-informed policies and practices. \nPlease join representatives from the Government of Canada\, researchers\, trainees\, community leaders\, and policymakers for a virtual event\, Harnessing Canadian Research for Global Health Equity\, where we will introduce the new CIHR Framework for Action on Global Health Research. \nWe encourage you to distribute this invitation through your networks. \nThe event will be presented in English with simultaneous interpretation in French. \nMONDAY\, MAY 31\, 2021 \n10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. (EST) \nREGISTER NOW
