SUMMARY:Addressing real needs: the role of implementation research in designing and operationalizing adolescent nutrition programs
DESCRIPTION:Adolescence marks a period of rapid growth with high nutritional needs. Good nutrition can fuel optimal physical and mental growth\, giving adolescents the strength and focus to study\, work and fully participate in their communities. Iron deficiency anaemia is the number one cause of lost disability-adjusted life years in adolescent girls (10–19 yrs) and boys (10–14 yrs) globally\, but until recently little attention and limited resources have been directed towards reducing anaemia and improving adolescent nutrition among at-risk populations. \nDon’t miss this opportunity to hear about Nutrition International’s experiences and lessons learned working with global partners to implement innovative ideas to improve adolescent health and nutrition in Asia and Africa. \nThree guest speakers will highlight the critical role of implementation research in designing adolescent nutrition programs by sharing: \n\nhow adolescent girl’s perspectives can shape the design of nutrition integration\nlessons learned from an adolescent nutrition program co-designed and implemented by girls\nhow to translate adolescent nutrition global guidance to program actions and policies\n\nFollowing the presentations attendees will have an opportunity to pose their questions during an open discussion period. \nClick here to register!https://register.gotowebinar.com/register/1330317125301213710 \nThis webinar is FREE thanks to the generous support of Nutrition International. \nSign up today to save your spot! You will receive a confirmation email that contains detailed information about how to join the webinar. \nWe hope you can join us live\, but if you are unable to attend\, a recording will be made available on the SISN website after the live event. \nPlease forward this e-mail to anyone who may be interested in implementation science and engaging in these timely and important discussions. \nFor more information\, contact SISN at info@implementnutrition.org.
