Description

The Support for sexual and reproductive health equity project aims to improve the exercise of the right to health, particularly sexual and reproductive health and rights, by more than 60,000 adolescents/women in the borough of Croix-des-Bouquets in Port-au-Prince. This improved exercise implicates that the adolescents and women targeted now have access to acceptable and appropriate health care. It also signifies a more positive attitude of the targeted communities towards greater control of the adolescents/women on their health and their sexual and reproductive rights and towards eliminating gender-based violence. The project focuses on raising awareness, mobilizing citizens and better integrating consultation and accountability mechanisms between decision-makers and civil society. The project addresses barriers to gender equality and respect for human rights in the health sector and sexual and reproductive rights, particularly experienced by adolescent girls/women in Croix-des-Bouquets.
