DESCRIPTION:PIH Canada and Medical Innovation in Global Health (MIGH) are bringing their case competition to high school students! \n\n\n\n\nPartners in Health (PIH) Canada and Medical Innovation in Global Health (MIGH) Case Competition \nAre you interested in health\, medicine\, social justice\, or making a real difference in the world? Join us for an exciting\, hands-on case competition where you’ll tackle a real global health challenge: tuberculosis (TB). \nIn this competition\, you and your team will step into the role of global health problem-solvers. You’ll work with a real-life case inspired by Partners In Health Canada’s work and design creative\, practical solutions to improve TB care in under-resourced communities. \nWho Should Participate: \n\nHigh school students interested in medicine\, nursing\, science\, social sciences\, global health\, and social justice\nTeams of up to 4 students\n(You can sign up with a team or register individually and be placed on one.)\n\nHow it Works: \n\nOne week before the event\, you’ll join a virtual session where you will receive a case package with background information about tuberculosis in Lesotho and the factors that affect health and access to care.\nOn competition day\, your team will receive a real TB-related challenge faced by Partners In Health.\nYou’ll have the day to:\n\nAnalyze the problem\nDesign a solution\nPrepare a presentation\n\n\nTeams will present to judges\, who will award 1st\, 2nd\, and 3rd place.\n\nKey Highlights: \n\nReal-World Impact: Address genuine challenges in tuberculosis in a developing country.\nAwards: Compete for exciting prizes! DESCRIPTION:Win prizes by engaging in real-world global health challenges!\n\n\n\nPartners in Health (PIH) Canada and Medical Innovation in Global Health (MIGH) Case Competition \nJoin us for an engaging and impactful case competition focusing on tuberculosis (TB). This competition provides a unique opportunity for participants to apply their skills and knowledge to real-world challenges faced by people with tuberculosis in under-resourced settings. \nParticipants will be presented with a case study based on real-life scenarios encountered by Partners In Health Canada in their TB health initiatives. Teams will analyze the case\, develop innovative solutions\, and present their recommendations to a panel of experts. \nWho Should Participate: \n\nStudents from the fields of public health\, medicine\, nursing\, social sciences\, engineering\, business\, and related disciplines\nStudents passionate about global health and social justice\nTeams of up to 4 participants (Form a team of four or join as an individual and be placed in a team).\n\nHow it Works: \nJan 30th – Online TB Panel and Case Introduction \nA week before the in-person case competition\, we will hold a virtual panel with TB experts. You will have the day to analyze and develop a comprehensive program to address it. \nAll necessary information about the country and the specific problem will be provided to you. After developing your solution\, your team will present your proposal to a panel of judges\, who will select the 1st\, 2nd\, and 3rd place winners. \nCompete for Exciting Prizes: \nFirst place: $400 \nSecond place: $300 \nThird place: $200 \nPlus PIH Canada swag!! \nKey Highlights: \n\nReal-World Impact: Address genuine challenges in tuberculosis in a developing country.\nNetworking Opportunities: Connect with professionals\, academics\, and peers who share a commitment to global health.\nExpert Feedback: Receive insights and guidance from a distinguished panel of judges with expertise in maternal and child health.\nLunch Provided!\n\nImportant Information: \n\nYou must register with a valid student email.
