Reflecting on Conversations at the Healthy World Conference

From May 14 to 15, the Healthy World Conference brought together over 300 people to unpack the interconnected nature of climate, health and gender equality. Held on the traditional territory of the Kanien’kehà:ka Nation, also known as Montréal, Quebec, sessions were grounded in an interactive and dialogue-forward approach and featured a blend of workshops, structured discussions, open conversations and networking opportunities.

In designing this event, CanWaCH engaged in consultations within and beyond the health and development sector over many months. We searched for the conversations that had yet to happen, brought together voices from diverse geographic landscapes and communities, and centered hope and optimism amidst the challenging nature of the topic.

With 21 featured dialogues over these two days, there was more wisdom and resonant messaging shared than we could hope to capture. Therefore, we have attempted to distill three reflections from some of the more structured conversations in this learning document, and we hope that these highlights continue to spark conversation.
