FuelHER is a CanWaCH initiative designed to inspire today’s athletes to become tomorrow’s changemakers. Purpose is fuel, and FuelHER connects young athletes to a purpose that extends beyond the rink, pitch or track.

FuelHER was created to advance the health and rights of women, children and adolescents by leveraging the transformative power of sport. We believe that for societies to thrive, all individuals must have access to good health, nutrition and education, as well as the opportunity to ambitiously pursue their goals. Through FuelHER, we connect this vision to the power of sport — leveraging the resilience, discipline and leadership cultivated through athletics to create lasting change.

FuelHER brings a local-to-global perspective to the power of sport. We engage young female athletes to show them that while girls around the world share the same passion for play, they often encounter vastly different obstacles to participation. By fostering awareness and action, we build a community of game changers who use their platform and experiences to drive progress in health and equity.

FuelHER’s flagship initiative is our partnership with WickFest — Canada’s premier female hockey festival founded by Hayley Wickenheiser. Together, we are building a movement that connects young athletes with global perspectives on sport, health and leadership. Through a series of workshops, panels and interactive experiences, we empower girls to recognize their role in shaping a healthier, more equitable world.

From Canadian ice rinks to fields and courts worldwide, FuelHER is fostering a generation of leaders who recognize that the game is just the beginning.
