Policies and best practices to prevent sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment: Lessons from the global health sector

10 December 2025 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Join us to close the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence with a practical discussion on how global health and humanitarian organizations can strengthen policies and practices to prevent sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment (PSEAH). Grounded in the recognition of the inherent power imbalances that exist in our sector and in the way our programs operate, this session will examine how organizations can more intentionally address these dynamics in their safeguarding approaches.

Building on the momentum of Cooperation Canada’s Leaders’ Pledge on Preventing and Addressing Sexual Misconduct, we will explore what effective safeguarding looks like specifically in the global health sector — from essential policy elements and survivor-centered reporting mechanisms to the real-world challenges organizations face when implementing these standards across diverse contexts.

Date and time: Wednesday, December 10 at 1 p.m. EST
