Pan-Canadian Women’s Health Coalition Newsletter: September 2026!

Register for our next KEystone Conversation! Knowledge transfer out of the lab: Facilitating the uptake of research evidence in clinical practice

Join the Pan-Canadian Women’s Health Coalition (PCWHC) on September 17 for the next KEystone Conversation, an informal knowledge exchange series that brings together researchers and partners across women’s health for open discussion, connection and mutual learning.

This session will explore how women’s health research moves beyond the lab and into clinical practice. Through a panel discussion followed by facilitated conversations in breakout rooms, participants will discuss what supports or hinders evidence uptake, how researchers and clinicians can work together more effectively, and how we can strengthen pathways from research to care.

In Conversation: Gaps to Equitable Reproductive and Sexual Health Care

Systemic barriers continue to limit access to reproductive and sexual health care for overlooked populations. Asha Ulusow, research coordinator at Women’s College Hospital and partner of the Women-Centered HIV Care Hub, and Dr. Martha Paynter of the IMPACT Hub explore the systemic barriers facing marginalized communities and how to close them.

New series: Addressing Misinformation in Women’s Health

Misinformation can make it harder for women to navigate their health, make informed decisions and know what to trust. In our new series, the Hubs of the PCWHC share the misinformation they encounter most often, what the research actually tells us and how they address misinformation in their work.

Stay tuned on LinkedIn and BlueSky as we unpack common myths and bring evidence to the conversation.

  • Watch: “Research is more than just gathering data and understanding the numbers and the facts. Research is a vehicle. It’s a tool to advance and improve the care of people.” At the Vitally Important Summit, Dr. Isabelle Malhamé discussed why it’s critical that the national women’s health framework includes a research pillar and how it’s instrumental in improving health outcomes. Watch the interview.
  • Listen: HERHealth is a podcast by AVA that empowers women, girls and gender-diverse people to take charge of their health and well-being. Hosted by Dr. Nicole Letourneau, AVA Scientific Director, Dr. Sarah Yercich and friends, the podcast highlights the health impacts of violence and adversity through research, expert insights and lived experiences.
