Building Resilient Food Systems and Livelihoods: Lessons on Women’s Economic Agency, Climate Resilience and Nutrition from Ethiopia

September 17 @ 8:30 am - 10:00 am

Join World Vision Canada and partners for a three-part webinar series celebrating how integrated, locally-led, and gender transformative programming approaches are helping women and girls exercise their rights, strengthen their voice and influence, and improve their lives, while exploring how these approaches can create hope, build agency, and contribute to broader economic opportunities for all.

The first webinar on September 17th will explore lessons learned from the RESILIENT-WE project in Ethiopia, with a focus on climate change adaptation actions integrated with inclusive food systems, nutrition, livelihoods, unpaid care work, and transformed gender norms.

Description: What does it take to create transformative and lasting change for women and girls, their families, and communities?

How can that change contribute to stronger, more economically resilient communities?

Join World Vision Canada and partners for a three-part webinar series to celebrate the impact of strong locally-led, multi-sectoral, and gender-transformative approaches that are helping women and girls exercise their rights, strengthen their voice and influence, and improve their lives, while exploring how these approaches can create hope, build agency, and contribute to broader economic opportunities.

Drawing on experiences from Kenya, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Tanzania, and beyond, the series will showcase how integrated investments across livelihoods, food security, climate resilience, health, nutrition, protection, and other sectors can strengthen women’s agency, address barriers to economic participation, and build more resilient communities and economies.

Each session will bring together field practitioners, technical specialists, partners, and community voices to share practical insights, lessons learned, and evidence from implementation.

The first webinar on September 17th will explore lessons learned from the RESILIENT-WE project in Ethiopia, with a focus on climate change adaptation actions integrated with inclusive food systems, nutrition, livelihoods, and transformed gender norms.

The session will highlight how these interconnected approaches strengthen women’s agency and decision-making power over social, economic, and environmental aspects that affect their lives, a more equitable distribution of unpaid care work, and expand women’s ability to participate in livelihoods, markets, and economic opportunities while helping families and communities to adapt and thrive amidst a changing climate.
