Gender Equality Summit Coming to Ottawa in June 2022

Equal Futures 2022: A Gender Equality Summit, will be hosted by the Equal Futures Network, an initiative of the Canadian Partnership for Women and Children’s Health (CanWaCH). Taking place from June 7 to 8, 2022, the summit will be held at the beautiful Richcraft Halloverlooking the Rideau River, at Carleton University in Ottawa. The summit’s inaugural theme is “Collaboration, Collective Action and Community”.

The summit will provide an in person forum for the gender equality movement in Canada to come together, in all its diversity, to build connections, strengthen capacity, share expertise, and shape a path towards a fairer and more equitable Canada. The summit will also be webcast in English and French for those who are unable to attend in-person and ensure access to all.

“The summit’s theme, Collaboration, Collective Action and Community, is reflective of the work that the Equal Futures Network has been undertaking, in partnership with our members, for the last year,” said Julia Anderson, CanWaCH CEO. “It’s also an opportunity for members of the Equal Futures Network, key stakeholders and decision makers to come together, discuss the challenges holding us back and determine the collective actions that will pave a path forward to advance gender equality across the country and around the world.”

Through the Equal Futures Network, CanWaCH amplifies the efforts of over 450 organizations, community and grassroots groups working to achieve gender equality in Canadian communities from coast to coast to coast.
