In 2019, Canada launched a new era of its leadership in women and children’s health. 5. Women Deliver 2019 Mobilization Canada launches Canada-wide bursary program!

On March 18, 2019, Women Deliver 2019 Mobilization Canada opened the call for nominations for its nation-wide bursary program, which funded fifty-five Canadians, aged 18-80, to attend Women Deliver 2019, the world’s largest conference on gender equality and health, rights and wellbeing of women and girls, in Vancouver in June 2019.

4. The Thrive Agenda

CanWaCH worked closely with a diverse coalition of Canada’s leading global health organizations in 2018 and 2019 to develop a bold vision for the future of Canadian leadership in the health and rights of women, adolescents and children around the world.

This bold vision, known as the Thrive Agenda, was the basis for Canada’s historic announcement of a ten-year, 1.4 billion annual investment in advancing the global health and rights of women, adolescents and children.
