A framework for sustainable global health and global surgery partnerships

Please join the UBC Department of Pediatrics and Institute for Global Health at BC Children’s Hospital and BC Women’s Hospital + Health Centre on Friday September 20, 2024 from 12:00 – 1:00pm for a Pediatric Grand Rounds by Dr. Faizal Haji, on “A framework for sustainable global health and global surgery partnerships”.

Dr. Haji is a pediatric neurosurgeon at BC Children’s Hospital and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of British Columbia. He is also co-lead for the Surgical Education Research Interest Group and Associate Director of the Global Surgery Lab within the Department of Surgery at UBC.

Learning Objectives:

1. Identify the principles underpinning ethical and sustainable global health/global surgery partnerships
2. Discuss a newly published framework for assessing sustainability of global surgery partnerships
3. Identify opportunities and challenges in applying this framework to existing and new partnerships
