Accelerating Global Efforts to Reduce Gender-Based Violence: Unleashing the influence of the church and other faith-based organizations to address the hidden pandemic

23 November 2021 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Increasingly, governments and multilateral agencies including the UN are recognizing the church and religious organizations as critical partners in addressing GBV.

On the eve of this year’s 16 days of activism, join World Renew & the CRCNA for the launch of a GBV advocacy guide and a 45-minute dialogue on how concerted efforts to address GBV can be strengthened by tapping on the influence of the church and other faith-based organizations.

Our Keynote speaker will be Dr.Elaine Storkey, a globally renowned author and theologian on Gender and Gender-Based Violence. Elaine was the president of Tearfund UK for 17 years where she focused on the issues women face across the world. She has authored award-winning books, including Scars Across Humanity: Understanding and Overcoming Violence Against Women, published in 2015. We will also hear from World Renew’s co-directors and other International development actors.

(Guests are invited to stay for an extra 30 minutes Q&A with Dr. Elaine at the end).
