Ending Aids by 2030: A Reality Check

1 December 2023 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

December 1st is World AIDS Day. On this day we honour the lives that have been lost, reflect on the progress made and acknowledge the work we have left to do to end AIDS.

This World AIDS Day, the Stephen Lewis Foundation is hosting a Pride Talks webinar, Ending AIDS by 2030: A Reality Check, with our LGBTIQ partners Omar Mussa Omar of Bridge Initiative Organization (BIO) in Tanzania and Samuel Kuria of Mamboleo Peer Empowerment Group (MPEG) in Kenya and with Racquel Bremmer of Casey House in Canada. The panel will be moderated by Kenita Placide, Executive Director of Eastern Caribbean Alliance for Diversity and Equality.

We will delve into the realities of access to HIV prevention, testing, and treatment to better understand the barriers and limitations of achieving the goal of ending AIDS by 2030.

Join us for this engaging and informative Pride Talks webinar on World AIDS Day.

Ending AIDS by 2030: A Reality Check

Friday, December 1st, 2023
10 a.m. – 11 a.m. EST

The Stephen Lewis Foundation

Founded 20 years ago, The Stephen Lewis Foundation (SLF) champions health and human rights alongside more than 100 community-led organizations working on the frontlines of the HIV epidemic in sub-Saharan Africa. A progressive, feminist organization rooted in the principles of social justice and international solidarity, their focus is supporting partners cutting the AIDS pandemic off at its roots by providing care and support to women, orphaned children, grandmothers, and the LGBTIQ community.

Partners in Pride

Through our Partners in Pride campaign, the SLF supports 14 LGBTIQ organizations and their leaders, who live in environments characterized by violent homophobia, legally entrenched discrimination, and political and social persecution. Your support assists these organizations, which are lifelines for LGBTIQ communities, directly assisting the vital services they provide including health care, mental health supports, social supports, and legal counsel.
