Co-sponsored by Global Affairs Canada, this panel will draw on initiatives, programs and experiences from World Vision Canada’s partnership with World Vision Tanzania, as well as Equimundo’s work in Rwanda and HOPEM Network’s work in Mozambique with younger men to showcase how engaging men as allies for gender equality is changing lives and creating a more gender-just world.
In order to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls to reach their life’s full potential, discriminatory gender norms must be challenged and transformed at all levels – individual, relationships, community, and society. While women and girls have enormous potential as advocates and change agents for their own equality, men and boys also have a crucial role to play as allies and active participants in gender-transformative change.
