FPBC: Citizens Deliberating the Future of Canada’s Global Engagement

14 January 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

FPBC: Citizens Deliberating the Future of Canada’s Global Engagement

These four events will be test runs of the deliberations that we are organizing for a microcosm of all Canadian citizens in February 2021. Extensive expert consultations throughout Fall 2020 produced policy proposals on four fundamental objectives in Canada’s foreign policy: Health, Security, Prosperity and Dignity. Participants will receive a discussion guide for their preferred topic and will be invited to deliberate with other citizens in an online session run by the Stanford University Center for Deliberative Democracy.

Event 1: Halifax (Security) Wednesday January 13 6:30 pm local, 5:30 EST

Event 2: Toronto (Dignity) Thursday January 14 7:00 pm EST

Event 3: Prince George (Global Public Health) Friday January 15 noon local, 3:00 pm EST

Event 4: Calgary (Prosperity) Monday January 18 2:30 pm local, 4:30 pm EST
