Women’s Realities and Resistance Amid the Erosion of the Rule of Law

Drawing on experiences from Afghanistan, Haiti, Guatemala and Sudan, four speakers highlight women’s resistance to oppression and threats to their rights amid the rollback of the rule of law and the rise of the far right.

  • Claudia González Orellana (Guatemala), lawyer, former Chief Prosecutor of the International Commission against Impunity in Guatemala (CICIG)
  • Danièle Magloire (Haiti), sociologist and spokesperson for the feminist NGO Kay Fanm
  • Mahasin Dahab (Sudan), public policy and advocacy professional for social justice and peace in Sudan and the Horn of Africa
  • Mary Akrami (Afghanistan), Founder and President, Afghan Women’s Network International (AWNI)
