2026-2027 SPIHC Mentorship Circles: Mentor Application

We invite all members of the Students for Partners In Health Canada (SPIHC) network to apply to become a mentor. Before applying, please review the structure of the Mentorship Circle (MC) and responsibilities of the mentorship role for the June 2026 – June 2027 campaign year.

The application will take approximately 15-20 minutes and is due by May 30, 2026 at 11:59 pm EDT.

Please contact [email protected] and/or your team’s coach with any questions about this application or the mentor role.

Should you be invited to become a mentor, a finalized description of the expectations and responsibilities will be provided to you before you’re asked to commit.

Mentors on the MC are expected to:

  1. Be prepared to mentor up to 3 teams, depending on the network’s needs.
  2. Conduct monthly mentorship calls with each team. These 45-60 minute calls require ~15 minutes of prep work, ~15-30 minutes of post-work
  3. Communicate with your teams between mentorship calls via email/text/slack about network events, team challenges, etc.
  4. Participate in monthly meetings with other mentors to improve mentorship practice.
  5. Have at least one 1:1 per month with PIH Canada representative.
  6. Complete ~10 hours of mentorship onboarding and participate in biannual mentors’ retreats. The summer mentors retreat will be on Zoom and is tentatively scheduled for July 11, 2026.
  7. Participate in Mentorship Circle (MC) social events and contribute to the planning and execution of network-wide webinars/workshops in each of the three pillars as needed.
  8. Help run Training Institute (TI) in Toronto from September 11-13th, 2026 as well as attend a pre-TI MC team building event on September 10th.

Overall Time Commitment: 8-10 hours per month (15 hours leading up to TI)
