Board members

Results Canada is seeking dynamic leaders to join our Board of Directors.

Do you want to make a difference in the world?

Results Canada is recruiting Board Members who share our vision that a world without extreme poverty is possible and who understand that everyday people have the power to make a difference.

Results Canada is a high-impact nonprofit advocacy organization committed to creating the political will to end extreme poverty. We advocate for resources and for policies that improve the health, education and economic opportunities of people living in poverty globally. Through the application of proven advocacy tools and tactics, our committed and trained volunteers are raising their voices to change the world. They are supported in that effort by a team of dedicated, highly skilled staff.

Results Canada is seeking Directors who have a passion for advocacy and public engagement. This year, to complement our current Board of Directors, we will also give special consideration to Directors with experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Fundraising and business development
  • Human resources and change management
  • Anti-oppression and DEI knowledge and understanding of best practice
  • Legal experience or familiarity with non-profit law
  • A person who has first-hand experience working on poverty-alleviation in a low-income country

Results Canada has the following basic expectations of board directors:

  • Know and support the mission of the organization
  • Attend and participate in all board meetings and the Annual General Meeting (approximately four meetings per year) plus participate in at least one board committee
  • Actively support resource development and fundraising efforts
  • Participate in Results Canada events and campaigns
  • Positively promote the organization and serve as a link with members, donors, volunteers, and other stakeholders

If you are interested in thinking big, in making a meaningful contribution to the world, and in taking on a constructive leadership role as part of Results Canada’s Board of Directors, please email us a cover letter, along with your resume, no later than May 2, 2024, to [email protected] with ‘Board Application’ in the subject line. We will only accept and review applications that are sent by email to the office account.

In your cover letter, please clarify the reason for your interest in Results Canada, evidence of demonstrated leadership in your professional or volunteer history, any experience you have gained as a Board member or in a leadership position, and your qualifications or experience in one or more of the areas outlined above.

Results Canada is committed to working within an anti-racism, anti-oppression, and anti-colonial framework and our anti-oppression values can be found at resultscanada.ca/our-anti-oppression-values. We strongly encourage applications from women, racialized people, Indigenous people, migrants, people with marginalized sexual or gender identities, and people living with disabilities. We invite candidates to share how they personally identify in their application if they wish to do so.
