Communications Intern

Job Description: location: Ottawa-Gatineau (Hybrid) or remote
Hours: 35 hours per week
Duration: 8 weeks
Compensation: $20.00 per hour
Important: This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Programme which requires applicants to be aged between 15 and 30 and be legally entitled to work in Canada. International students are not eligible.

Results Canada is recruiting a Communications Intern to join our dedicated team of staff and volunteers. The Communications Intern will support the Communications team will support in the implementation and monitoring of strategies that amplify Results Canada’s brand, enlistment new strategic partners in our mission, and support and grow our grassroots base to maximize the impact of grassroots action.

Responsibilities

  • Create relevant, clear, and compelling content for the Results Canada’s website, email and social media channels, including sourcing digital assets and copywriting.
  • Support the development of communications products including reports, blogs, and newsletters.
  • Work with the policy and parliamentary teams to produce materials on international development for decision-makers and the public.
  • Support the creation of public engagement tools and communications materials for volunteers.
  • Support Results Canada’s engagement in events, or other special projects.
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or other related fields, or experience in a relevant field.
  • Excellent organizational skills, goal-oriented, and proactive.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Experience creating and posting creative content for social media.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Respect for diversity and commitment to creating an environment that values inclusiveness and respect. 

Assets

  • Familiarity with basic video production and editing.
  • Experience with basic website management (e.g., WordPress).
  • Familiarity with email marketing software.
  • Familiarity with basic design software (e.g., Canva).
  • Proficiency in both English and French.

Work Environment

Results Canada operates as a hybrid work environment with staff working from home and our Ottawa office as required. Fully remote candidates (outside Ottawa/Gatineau) are also encouraged to apply for this role.
