Youth Representative

HealthBridge Foundation of Canada is looking for a Youth Representative on our Board of Directors. We are an international NGO that relies on the passions and generosity of our supporters, partners, and donors to advance our vision of improving health and health equity worldwide. HealthBridge has four core program areas: 1) Livable Cities, 2) Health, Nutrition, and Food Security, 3) Sexual, Reproductive, Maternal and Child Health & Rights, and 4) Tobacco Control and Non-Communicable Disease Prevention.

Our Board of Directors is comprised of a group of passionate people who support our global health programming, from a variety of backgrounds, including academic, international development, public health and business domains. We are looking for an individual between the ages of 18-30 who has experience working in or connections with the NGO community, international health, government, the business/corporate community, or philanthropy. This is an opportunity to leverage your personal and professional networks, apply your expertise and technical skills about global health and development in an advisory role, and bring fresh ideas and perspectives to the Board of Directors as a Youth Representative.

What you bring to the role:

  • Enthusiasm for HealthBridge’s mission
  • The ability to commit to attending a minimum of 4 meetings a year (one of which is an Annual General Meeting held in Ottawa) and serve on at least one committee
  • Willingness to advocate for the organization within your network and to act as an ambassador
  • Expertise in an area relevant to HealthBridge’s mission
  • Experience working or volunteering in global development or global health or one of our four program areas (1. Livable Cities, 2. Health, Nutrition and Food Security, 3. Sexual, Reproductive, Maternal and Child Health & Rights, and 4. Tobacco Control and NCD Prevention)
  • Fulfill a 3-year term, with the possibility of renewal.
