Call for Consultants: Thematic Review of Gender Equality at WaterAid
WaterAid is seeking a consultant and/or consultants to conduct this thematic review. Full details can be found in the attached ToR and can be accessed by clicking on ‘Apply’. Consultants should have experience in conducting thematic reviews at the global level with a substantial understanding of gender equality.
Context
WaterAid’s Global Strategy aims to contribute significantly to the achievement of universal access to water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) by 2030, aligned with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6, and one of its 4 strategic aims is to ‘tackle and challenge the inequalities that prevent the poorest and most marginalised people from realising their right to safe water, sanitation and hygiene’. A reduction in gender inequalities is essential to realising this aim.
As part of WaterAid’s Global Monitoring and Evaluation Framework, WaterAid International annually commissions an external ‘Thematic Review’. The purpose of these reviews is to enable WaterAid to assess its effectiveness and identify learning and recommendations in a specific thematic area of its work.
Methodology and Outputs
Due to the current COVID situation, the review will be conducted remotely. As international travel is not possible, additional consultants already based in the selected countries will be contracted to conduct interviews and/or Focus Group Discussions with external stakeholders (either remotely or face to face).
The expected outputs are:
Management and Budget
The budget for this Terms of Reference is approximately £30,000 excluding taxes and VAT. This does not include reimbursable expenses, nor the cost of consultants based in CPs. Budgets submitted responding to this ToR need not refer to the additional consultants, which will be funded separately. WaterAid estimates the work will require the equivalent of 60 days’ work during the period outlined above. Value for money will be a consideration for selection.
