Community Giving Manager

Based out of Canada Office, reporting to the Director, Digital and Community Engagement, the Community Giving Manager is responsible for raising funds, building brand presence and supporting events through a diverse portfolio, with focus on digital including peer-to-peer giving, new single and monthly gift products and new event initiatives. The manager will also work closely in supporting our extensive Face-to-Face monthly donor program and lead in exploring other new relational channels and opportunities.  In collaboration with rest of the D&CE team attracting new audiences and growing our supporter base. Responsible for running donor acquisition campaigns, developing creative and dynamic events and activities, both in person and online, as well as building relationship with allies for joint advocacy and outreach events. The goal is to strengthen and expand the growth of Children’s Believe mission for new strategic and renewal of ongoing initiatives within the community. Increasing the awareness of the Children Believe brand across Canada, the Community Giving Manager will increase engagement with diverse communities to pursue new revenue opportunities and support existing programs. The Community Giving Manager role supports our current and prospective public and private corporations work and develops digital engagement strategies to deepen their financial and philanthropic engagement with Children Believe’s mission.

This role includes, but not limited to:

Digital Fundraising – 40%

  • Support Director, Digital and Community Giving to develop and execute crowdfunding and P2P fundraising campaigns with the goal of maximizing recurring and single gift revenue for the organization
  • Utilize all digital fundraising tactics available such as: search, display, social, native and crowdfunding
  • Seek out new and emerging creative concepts, applications and methodologies
  • Researching and implement new online fundraising initiatives
  • Test new eCommerce pages to ensure they properly process donations
  • Develop new initiatives and strategies to increase efficiency and effectiveness in the department
  • Generate monthly reports on campaigns performance

Community Engagement – 30%

  • Deliver strategic campaigning and outreach activities including, but not limited to, donor acquisition campaigns, digital and offline petition drives, public events and speaking engagements, media stunts and social media activities and creative engagement initiatives (online and offline – as defined by campaign plans).
  • Monitor and research the giving landscape for new fundraising or engagement opportunities and fundraising best practices to grow the community portfolio. Conducts prospect research and analysis of funding opportunities, solicited and unsolicited, in alignment with Children Believe’s strategic priorities, for funding support to programmes, advocacy and research initiatives.
  • Develop digital and in-person public education and influencing activities on the organization advocacy priorities.
  • Provide support to Director, Digital and Community Giving to stimulate out of the box thinking that results in new and enhanced methods of engaging with donors and the community.
  • Develop and run initiatives that mobilize community participation in campaigns
  • Develop and coordinate budget preparation for proposals, using appropriate donor templates.
  • Develop materials, resources and strategies to inform and engage organizations supporters in campaigning and public community engagement initiatives.
  • Create materials for on-going campaign and outreach work, such as presentations, backgrounders, handout sheets and display materials.
  • Develop guidelines and templates for concept proposals, highlighting best practices and lessons learnt from previous submissions.
  • Maintain strong communications and relationship with current donors and prospective community members.
  • Advocate on behalf of Children Believe to maintain and cultivate key donor relationships in Canada and globally.  Actions and networking will result in Children Believe being identified as a ‘partner of choice’ to implement official charity partnerships.

Digital Marketing Operations – 20%

  • Partner with Manager, Digital Content and Manager, Donor Campaigns to ensure digital activity is aligned with community giving marketing, creative and content strategy
  • Develop and align campaign creative with our overarching brand, ensuring a seamless user experience
  • Develop, evaluate and oversee the implementation of A/B testing protocols and procedures
  • Generate monthly reports on our marketing campaigns performance
  • Update the dashboard with acquisitions, one-time gifts, etc.
  • Assist the Director, Digital and Community Engagement in vendor contract negotiation and vendor’s day to day management of digital vendors.

Support Monthly Donor acquisition (Face-to-Face) – 10%

  • Support Manager, Donor Campaigns – who oversees the monthly donor program – vendors and stakeholders to ensure Children Believe is meeting its annual acquisition goals within the budgeted investment
  • Ensure our online and other community acquisition programs are in sync with our annual Monthly Donor acquisition program. 

Other

  • Comply with all Children Believe policies and procedures.
  • Other related duties as assigned. 

The ideal candidate possesses:

  • University degree (minimum B.A or BSc. in Communications, Marketing, International Development or Economic, International / Global Business Management) required;
  • Minimum 3 years of experience of successfully developing and leading Marketing Campaigns or raising funds.
  • First hand experience from working in an international development focused not-for-profit is an advantage.
  • Project management experience, including planning, budgeting, monitoring and analysis
  • Experience in direct response channels (DM, EM, TM, D2D)
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, DMS and crowdfunding platforms
  • Excellent interpersonal skills nurtures strong professional relationships with colleagues at all levels and with external contacts and partners to support the achievement of objectives
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Producing a range of communications and high-quality bespoke presentations/reports/proposals for both community partners and potential donors.
  • Effective at building positive relationships with staff and partnerships with stakeholders at all levels with a focus on building and maintain an excellent communication relationship with our community.
  • Professional in communication with internal and external stakeholders, in person and while working virtually
  • Excellent research, report writing and proposal development skills
  • Systematically plan projects to maximise performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously by multi-tasking and work under tight deadlines with advanced organization skills and strong attention to detail
  • Remains positive and quickly recovers from setbacks, keeping problems in perspective.

Location: The office is located at 1200 Denison Street, Markham, ON. Staff are currently working from home with some flexibility on in-office activity until further notice (due to Covid-19 related health precautions).

Compensation:

Between $70,000 to $83,000 annually based on experience
