CSW69 Bursary Program

In 2025, the global community will mark the thirtieth anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women and the adoption of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (1995). Held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York from March 10 to 21, the sixty-ninth session of the Commission on the Status of Women will focus on the review and appraisal of the implementation of the Platform for Action.

CanWaCH is committed to ensuring that our Canadian-based members can attend this important event and is pleased to launch a CSW69 Bursary Program. This program will provide financial assistance to CanWaCH members located in Canada who would otherwise be unable to attend.

The bursary program aims to support recipients as they meaningfully participate in important discussions, engage in learning through impactful events, and amplify key information, resources and next steps with the wider CanWaCH membership following the event.

Recipients will receive full funding to attend CSW69 including:

  • Air travel;
  • Accommodation for the duration of the session;
  • Passes to attend UN events;
  • A small stipend to cover other costs (meals, ground travel, etc.).

Eligibility criteria* are as follows:

  • Applicants work or volunteer for a CanWaCH member organization
  • Applicants are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident;
  • Applicants are currently based in Canada.

*Additional consideration will be given to those applying from organizations with small operating budgets and from individuals who identify as a member of an equity-deserving community.
