Development Coordinator

Fora is looking for a Development Coordinator to play a crucial role in our fundraising efforts and development. Position Summary
The Development Coordinator plays a key role in supporting Fora’s revenue generation efforts. This role
primarily focuses on grant writing, identifying new funding prospects, and soliciting event sponsorships.
Additionally, the Development Coordinator is responsible for maintaining and administering databases,
as well as generating reports. This position reports directly to the Senior Manager of Development and
Operations.

The primary responsibilities of the Development Coordinator include:

Fund Development (95%)

  • Support the development of solicitation materials including grant applications and sponsorship proposals.
  • Identify prospective government, foundation and corporate donors.
  • Conduct outreach to both prospective and existing donors.
  • Draft donor agreements.
  • Support in the building of relationships and stewardship of donors and funders.
  • Support in the planning and facilitation of in-person fundraising events.
  • Maintain detailed donor profiles and track donor interactions in Salesforce database.
  • Complete gift uploads and maintain gift records in Salesforce.
  • Maintain the fundraising tracker and support reporting on progress towards revenue
  • goals.

Organizational Support (5%)

  • Provide insights into Fora’s overall organizational strategy.
  • Support in-person event facilitation, including Fora’s annual Leadership Forum.
  • Contribute to organizational strategic planning, annual planning, etc.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Work Requirements

  • Must be legally able to work in Canada.
  • Ability to work remotely with a dedicated workspace and stable internet connection.
  • Ability to work flexible hours on occasion.

Education & Certifications

  • Post Secondary degree or Certificate in Fundraising Management, Communications or
  • Business Administration is an asset, but not essential.
  • A combination of lived experience and non-academic credentials is also valued.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Sensitivity working with women and gender-marginalized youth (ages 18-29) from a diversity of communities.
  • Demonstrated experience drafting grant applications, funding proposals, and/or solicitation materials is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills with prospective donors/stakeholders.
  • Excellent professional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to draft compelling, concise copy for various audiences.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • The ability to work independently and stay self-motivated.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • An understanding and passion for youth advocacy and/or gender equity.
  • Experience with Salesforce Non-Profit Success Pack or other CRM an asset.
