Dignity Network Canada is a national, membership-based non-profit organization dedicated to advancing Canadian support of human rights for people regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, or sex characteristics (SOGIESC) globally. There are currently 49 organizational members of the network. In 2020, Dignity Network Canada formally incorporated and a Board of Directors of 13 individuals was established. According to our By-laws 1.0 approved in November 2020 by our members, at least 60% of the Board must be nominated by our members.
CALL: Dignity Network Canada is currently seeking four (4) candidates for our Board of Directors. Any member organization of the network may nominate a member to the Board. Current length of term for the vacancies is 2 years. This nominations process is looking for Directors to serve from October 2021 to October 2023. We are also looking for Committee Members for our Governance, Finance and Membership Committees.
We strongly encourage organizational members to nominate people who:
• have experience working in international cooperation, advocacy and/or human rights
• have experience in government relations
• have skills in fundraising or external communications and public relations
• identify as francophone
• live in Quebec, western Canada, Atlantic Canada or the northern territories
• identify as women, trans, gender non-binary, intersex or Two-Spirit
Deadline for Applications: Wednesday, September 1st
Interviews (if needed): Early September
Board approval of slate: Early October
Membership Approval of slate and AGM: Late October or Early November
All DNC members can make nominations to the Board of Directors. Nominations can be for staff, Board, volunteers, or past staff or volunteers. Individuals do not represent your organization on the Board but serve in an individual capacity.
