Know our team

Nutrition International’s Business Development (BD) unit is a diverse team of dedicated professionals with extensive global experience in resource mobilization and non-profit fundraising for international development. The unit leads, coordinates, and supports funding identification and positioning, grant acquisition, and relationship cultivation processes with institutional and private donors and implementing partners. The BD unit works closely with other teams across the organization to grow and diversify resources for Nutrition International’s global strategy and Investment Case. The BD team is located in Nutrition International’s Headquarters in Ottawa, Canada, with dedicated counterparts within our Regional Offices in Africa and Asia.

About you

You have a university degree in a relevant discipline for example, Commerce, Political Science, International Development, Marketing and Communications. You have experience working within an international and/or non-governmental organization in similar field with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in fundraising from foundations and HNWIs. You demonstrate strong knowledge and experience of business development and marketing within the international aid and development sector, and with foundations and/or corporate donors.

About the role

In this role you will:

  • Coordinate the development and implementation Nutrition International’s foundations strategy/fundraising plan to strengthen and grow the organization’s private funding portfolio.
  • Assist in the design, implementation and coordination of donor cultivation and stewardship plans.
  • Track emerging business opportunities, including Calls for Proposals (CfPs) and business forecasts from a spectrum of private donors, and assist in prioritizing opportunities for further engagement.
  • Work with the Business Development VP/ Director to identify new business opportunities with public and private foundations through prospect research.
