Funding Opportunity: The Transcend Impact Challenge

The Transcend Impact Challenge is a $1.5M fund to support trans and gender diverse communities across Canada to thrive and live prosperous lives. The Challenge is led by the Sonor Foundation with support from partner foundations, including Chamandy Foundation, Canadian Women’s Foundation, and more. We are seeking to fund programs/projects that address the challenge question: How can we support trans and gender diverse communities to thrive and live prosperous lives through supportive environments, economic and financial stability and inclusion, housing, education, and health care access?

The fund will provide multi-year grants ranging from $50k to $300k total per organization over 2 or 3 years to groups across Canada that are working to improve the lives of trans and gender diverse individuals.

There are two stages to the application process. Please review the guidelines and FAQ below before submitting an application.

• Round 1: Open call for applications. Application period opens February 13 and closes March 10, 2023 at 11:59pm ET.
• Round 2: A shortlist of applicants from Round 1 will be invited to complete further diligence at the end of March. 

Decisions and announcements will be made in May 2023.
