Submission of interest: Global Health Impact Summit 2025

We are now accepting applications for next year’s Global Health Impact Summit. The event will take place in Toronto, Ontario on May 6 and 7, 2025.

Theme: Data that speaks:  Harnessing qualitative insights for global health and gender equality

Through this highly practical learning event, participants will share and discuss qualitative approaches to measurement, research and evaluation in global health and gender equality. Over two days, attendees will have the chance to workshop a specific project, method or critical question relevant to their organization’s work. This will be complemented by opportunities for networking and skill building with experienced qualitative practitioners. Attendees will leave the Summit better equipped to champion and integrate innovative, contemporary and robust qualitative data and approaches in their global health programming, giving due consideration to the challenges and opportunities. 

The voices and stories of diverse women, girls and their communities will be centered throughout all Summit discussions. As such, all participants are expected to share a radically candid presentation of successes and challenges they have faced in applying qualitative approaches and working with qualitative data, and to come prepared with specific questions they would like to unpack as part of a workshop-style discussion.

To foster an intimate learning environment, and given the sensitive nature of the projects being discussed, only those involved in presenting will be in attendance. Public registration will not be available for this event, and at least one presenter is required to attend in person. Virtual participation for some project members will be possible.

Please note:

• Submissions must be using a qualitative methodology, approach or data source, or planning to do so.
• Submissions should ultimately relate to health and rights programming and service delivery. 
• Submissions should be at the design or implementation phase, or part of a larger organizational approach, and presenters should be looking to make changes as a result of their learnings at the Summit. As such, presentations that are solely focused on disseminating findings of past projects would not be suitable.
• Submissions should have a Canadian connection (for example, a Canadian partner or funder is involved in the project).

How to Apply:

If you are interested in participating in this Summit, please complete this initial expression of interest form no later than 29 November 2024.

CanWaCH will be in touch following the deadline to discuss the project and secure additional details from selected projects. We anticipate that all applicants will be notified of acceptance no later than 15 January 2025. Please complete a separate form for each project or approach you wish to submit. This will be a bilingual event and submissions are welcome in either English or French.
