SOS Children’s Villages Canada is seeking an accomplished International Program Manager with a minimum of 5-years project management and program monitoring experience within an international development organization. The ideal candidate possesses experience with and a passion for youth programming and empowerment. Proven abilities in project management and supporting multiple stakeholders to achieve targets and deadlines are essential. This is a very collaborative role. The Program Manager will support the development of the implementation plan, chair regular project review meetings, assess progress, collaborate on course corrective actions as needed and prepare narratives for donor reporting. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills that enable strong working relationships across cultural and organizational boundaries sets you apart.

ABOUT THE ROLE
SOS Children’s Villages Canada, in partnership with funders and key stakeholders, is developing a youth empowerment initiative to be implemented in SOS International program locations in East and South African regions (ESAF). The program mission is to provide under-served youth with the opportunity to develop the skills that are essential for independence and success as young adults. Implemented locally, programming will offer academic assistance, career guidance, experiential learning, skills training, and scholarship opportunities to participants.
The International Program Manager will support the formulation and implementation of the Youth Empowerment Program within the chosen countries. The role will collaborate with a counterpart Program Manager based in Nairobi and will support ESAF teams to ensure the successful rollout of the Program. Activities essential to this role include project design, project management, financial review and reporting, and progress report communications to the funder.
The ability to travel to Nairobi for a 1-week formulation workshop in March 2023 is a requirement of the position.
