STATUS: 1.0 FTE, 1 year contract with possibility of extension
REPORTING TO: Director, Global Health Impact
LOCATION: Work-from-home position, based in Canada
WHO WE ARE:
The Canadian Partnership for Women and Children’s Health (CanWaCH) is a proud membership of more than 100 non-governmental organizations (NGOs), academic institutions, and health professional associations partnering to improve health outcomes for women and children in more than 1,000 communities worldwide. CanWaCH unites the expertise and commitment of Canadian organizations and individuals to advance the health and rights of women, children and adolescents globally, envisioning a world where women, children and adolescents, in all their diversity, realize their right to thrive in full health.
CanWaCH is a completely virtual organization, with all staff operating from home offices across Canada. The ability to thrive in a fast paced and complex environment is essential. CanWaCH is a good fit for you if you are able to juggle multiple priorities, navigate changing realities and work effectively with a range of styles and approaches. CanWaCH strives to create an environment of radical candor, matched with a ‘can-do’ attitude and ambition. You would be an excellent fit if you enjoy thinking outside the box, see yourself as a ‘builder’ and inspire community and connections.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to CanWaCH’s Director, Global Health Impact, the Manager, Evidence in Action is directly responsible for the execution of all tasks under the ‘Evidence in Action’ project – an initiative focused on effective synthesis, dissemination, and uptake of research and evaluation outputs. Leveraging expertise in health research and evaluation, the Manager will coordinate and deliver a variety of strategies targeting a highly technical audience of global and Canadian health researchers and programming specialists. The Manager is able to expertly manage relationships with multi-sectoral partners including academics, civil society partners, students and trainees, and others. The Manager is a ‘doer’, not a ‘delegator’ – with a proactive approach and experience in completing tasks independently. Additionally, the Manager brings a strong understanding of and practical experience in health research and project evaluation, and is interested in how evidence can be effectively leveraged to generate policy and practice change.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Research, analysis and content development (approx. 70%)
3. Virtual learning development and convening (approx. 20%)
4. In-person learning development and convening (approx. 10%)
