Who is the Digital Communications & Design Officer?
The Policy Officer is part of Cooperation Canada’s policy team. This team helps connect policy work with
the organization’s other goals and activities in a thoughtful and timely way. The Policy Officer plays an
important role in supporting a strong and creative network of organizations that believe in social justice
and work together for positive change. This role also helps provide clear and useful policy information to
support shared action for a more inclusive world.
The Policy Officer reports to the Director of Policy and Advocacy. They will help manage and plan projects, build and maintain relationships with partners, organize group discussions, and support research and learning activities. All of this supports Cooperation Canada’s work as a leader and connector in the international cooperation sector.
You may be a good fit for this role if you are thoughtful, motivated, and enjoy working with others. You
can work well on your own, even when things are not fully clear. You care about Canada’s role in
building a fairer, safer, and more sustainable world. You speak both French and English, are comfortable
in political or government spaces, write clearly and confidently, and make sure equity is central in your
work. You also enjoy working across different teams and departments to get things done.
What will we be looking for in our candidates?
We are looking for a bilingual (French and English) policy analyst with at least two years of experience in
policy work or a related field. The right person for this role is a strong writer with solid analytical and
applied research skills. You are comfortable managing projects, organizing activities, and bringing people
together through meetings or group discussions. You work well on your own and as part of a team. You
are organized, reliable, and able to coordinate different tasks and priorities. Most importantly, you apply
the values of anti-racism, equity, diversity, inclusion, and justice (AEDIJ) in all aspects of your work.
