Program Manager, Global Health

CARE Canada is looking for:
Two Program Managers for the Global Health team
One Temporary Contract 6-12 months &
One Permanent – Bilingual French/English Required

ABOUT THE ROLES / WHAT THE ROLES OFFERS

The Global Health team at CARE Canada is looking for two Program Managers to support the implementation of Nutrition and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights programming. 

One position is a parental leave cover for the Southern African Nutrition Initiative being implemented in Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique. This is a short-term contract position for 6-12 months.

The second position is an anticipatory recruitment for a program in Haiti. This position is permanent with French/English Bilingual essential and may take on additional projects as required. 

Both positions require candidates to have strong project management skills, experience managing GAC-funded programming, and excellent relationship-building and communication skills.

WHAT YOU OFFER / ABOUT YOU

  • Fluency in French and English are strongly desired for both roles, while French fluency (written and spoken) is required for the permanent role.
  • A minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience managing GAC-funded international development projects.
  • Expertise in one or more of the following programming areas: public health, SRHR, ASRHR, gender and youth responsive health programming, health system strengthening 
  • A minimum of 3 – 5 years managing for results using results-based management tools.
  • Experience in applying rights and gender-based approaches to programming.
  • Knowledge of GAC structure, programs, policies and development tools.
  • Expertise in developing and managing budgets over $5M CAD.
  • Experience working in a country-setting where CARE is delivering programming.
  • Minimum MA/MSC in relevant field or significant (greater than 10 years) experience in managing international development portfolios of $10M CAD +
  • Commitment to feminist principles and approaches to program management
  • Promote and maintain an organizational culture that advances gender equality, reduces power abuse and inequalities, is inclusive, and fosters trust and safety. 
  • Create an environment within CARE’s workplaces, programming, and communities where CARE works that is free from sexual harassment, sexual abuse and sexual exploitation and child abuse (SHEA-CA).  
  • Ensure high standards of prevention and response measures for SHEA-CA are in place consistent with the CARE International (CI) Safeguarding Policy and Safeguarding Code of Conduct.
