The Canadian Association for Global Health (CAGH) brings together a vibrant global health community working to create a healthier and more equitable world. CAGH is a member-based not-for-profit organization whose action on health equity and the social determinants of health in Canada and worldwide is rooted in collaborative research, learning, advocacy, policy and practice. CAGH is the outcome of the 2021 amalgamation of the Canadian Society for International Health (CSIH) and the Canadian Coalition for Global Health Research (CCGHR) and builds on our more than 60 years of combined history, leadership and action. CAGH is governed by a Board of Directors, elected by the CAGH membership.

Job Description

Position Title:           Program ManagerKnowledge Exchange

Reporting To:           Executive Director, CAGH

Location:                  Ottawa preferred

Level of Effort:          Full time

Term:                        Program ManagerKnowledge Exchange

Salary Range:           $62,000 – $72,000

Duties and Responsibilities

Project Management:

  • Overall implementation of Knowledge Exchange programs in accordance with funding agreements
  • Development and execution of annual work plans, budgets, and evaluation plans
  • Create and/or maintain systems for tracking resources and performance 
  • Execute related administrative activities
  • Produce and submit narrative and financial reports as required

Communications:

  • Develop briefing materials and synthesize diverse information
  • Draft content for outreach, including web, social media and other promotional avenues
  • Liaise and communicate effectively with CAGH staff, members, consultants, partners and internal and external stakeholders
  • Coordinate and participate in promotional and outreach activities

Collaboration:

  • Build partnerships and work collaboratively with the non-profit and community organizations, academia, Federal and Provincial/Territorial Ministries of Health, private sector representatives, and public health professionals across Canada
  • Participate and contribute to stakeholder engagement meetings, activities and working groups (i.e. Women in Global Health, UNAIDS PCB, World Hepatitis Alliance)
  • Steward relationships and coordinate operations of relevant steering committees and working groups corresponding with gender equality, community engagement, and other elements of equity, diversity, inclusion, and justice

Other:

  • Seek and apply for additional funding for sustainability and additional programming
  • Participate in CAGH management responsibilities
  • Recruit and supervise staff, interns and volunteers
  • Other activities as required by ED

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in Public Health, Health Policy, Health Management, Public Administration or a related field
  • 3 – 5 years of program management experience
  • Experience in government-funded project management, evaluation and reporting
  • Strong theoretical and practical background in knowledge translation and mobilization
  • Knowledge of:
    • Health equity, gender equality and principles of inclusive global health
    • The Canadian public health system, including key national and international stakeholders
    • Sexually transmitted and blood borne infections (STBBI)
  • Experience coordinating events involving multiple priorities and stakeholders
  • Excellent written, oral and comprehension skills in English; fluency in French is an asset
