Regional Coordinator (Contract)

UNA-Canada is looking for Regional Coordinators (5 contractors) located in Western Canada, Atlantic Canada and Quebec, with strong networks, great writing skills, excellent project management and organizational skills, successful experience in multi-sectoral and multi-stakeholder collaborations, and solid knowledge of the civil society and academic communities in Canada. These contractor roles are part-time, with the possibility of full-time in some regions.

The Regional Coordinator (RC) is primarily responsible for identifying and securing agreements with various partner organizations to host CGC Interns for six-month work-integrated learning experiences. They are integral to the operational, and communications support in the development and execution of CGC at the regional level.


Key Deliverables:

• Identify and secure a select number of Internships with employer partners for CGC (~40% of time);
• Work with Project Officers (POs) to recruit & support CGC Interns (~15% of time);
• New partnership building with eligible employer partners in the STEM and green sector (~10% of time)
• Promote CGC activities through social media platforms, including the development and maintenance of
websites, listservs and other social media accounts such as Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram
(~5% of time);
• Attend community engagement sessions, meetings, and/or presentations hosted by CGC Interns to ensure
maximum outreach and promotion (~5% of time)
• Follow up with the submission of all first month and final reports, blogs and other required documentation
submitted by both Interns and Employer Partner Supervisors and regularly report to the Programme
Manager and CGC team on progress and challenges (~15% of time).
• Other duties as required which may include, but are not limited to: (~10% of time)
o Track dates and hours worked.
o Identify like-minded community organizations with similar objectives and recommend ways to
engage them in the project activities.
o Assist the coordination of training sessions in consultation with the PM and POs, to enhance
knowledge and skills among targeted youth, engaging subject-matter experts as appropriate.• Follow up with the submission of all first month and final reports, blogs and other required documentation
submitted by both Interns and Employer Partner Supervisors and regularly report to the Programme
Manager and CGC team on progress and challenges (~15% of time).
• Other duties as required which may include, but are not limited to: (~10% of time)

Qualifications and Experience:
• Relevant experience in coordinating projects at a regional and national level.
• Possess or be currently pursuing a college/university degree in relevant field of study in Public
Administration, Education, Political Science, Business, Communications, Environmental Science or related field.
• Must be eligible to work in Canada.
• Have proven facilitation, project management and excellent leadership skills.
• Be able to work well independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Have experience working with youth (aged 18-30), NGOs, government, and in the private sector.
• Be comfortable working remotely with the UNA-Canada team.
• Experience with Microsoft Teams, Office 365 and Google Suite
• Have interest in, and knowledge of programme management and coordinating files.
• Having 1-2 years of related experience in the above activities is considered a strong asset.
• Bilingualism (English and French) required for the RC Quebec contractor position. Fluency in English required for all other positions.
