Regional Program Advisor

We have an immediate opening for a motivated international development professional who excels at project design and proposal writing. Reporting to the Head of Programs, Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), the Regional Program Advisor works independently and coordinates the efforts of a cross-functional team to support the sustainability and growth of Cuso International’s programming initiatives in Colombia, Honduras, Jamaica and Peru. This includes program/project design, proposal writing/editing, partnership development, project management and cross-cultural communication. The role is based in Ottawa and will work closely with our Country Program Offices and with key departments at Cuso Headquarters in Ottawa. (We are currently working remotely.) 

You bring the following in return for a dynamic and mission driven employee experience: 

  • 5 years of experience in a relevant field and demonstrated experience working with Global Affairs Canada and other international development agencies 
  • A proven track record of program and project design for international development, including experience with results-based management frameworks  
  • Demonstrated experience drafting program development documents and editing content for various audiences, including for international development agencies 
  • Knowledge of current issues and trends in gender equality and/or economic empowerment of vulnerable groups (e.g. women, youth and persons with disabilities) and/or refugee/migrant assistance and/or climate change and food security 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills in English and Spanish 
  • Experience with MEAL systems and frameworks
