Senior Manager, Programs (1-Year Parental Leave Cover)

We’re looking for 

  • A skilled program manager with a minimum of 6 years of experience in donor relations, program oversight, and resource mobilization in the international cooperation sector. 
  • A leader capable of fostering cross-organizational collaboration and ensuring alignment with donor expectations and compliance requirements. 
  • An individual committed to advancing anti-racism, equity, diversity, inclusion, and justice (AEDIJ) while managing Global Affairs Canada (GAC)-funded programming and other donor-funded initiatives. 
  • A bilingual (English and French) professional with excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills. 

Compensation and benefits   

  • Full-time hours (35 hrs/week), unionized 
  • $83,118 a year

Who is the Senior Manager of Programs?  

This is a pivotal role focused on managing donor-funded programming and fostering cross-organizational collaboration. Reporting to the COO/CEO, this position ensures the delivery of high-quality capacity development programming in areas such as prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse, anti-racism, and humanitarian practice. The Senior Manager oversees financial and technical reporting, supervises staff, and builds strategic donor relationships. 

What will we be looking for in our candidates?  

You are interested in this role because you are a seasoned professional with a proven track record in program management, donor relations, and resource mobilization. Fully bilingual in French and English, you excel at fostering strategic donor relationships, ensuring compliance with institutional donor requirements, and leading cross-organizational collaboration. Your expertise lies in capacity development programming in areas like anti-racism, prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse, and humanitarian practice. With superior organizational and financial management skills, you are adept at managing budgets, delivering high-quality initiatives, and aligning them with donor expectations. Your ability to champion anti-racism, equity, diversity, inclusion, and justice (AEDIJ) in all facets of your work reflects a strong alignment with Cooperation Canada’s mission and values. Ideally, you have experience in the international cooperation sector or with membership-based organizations, showcasing your passion for fostering positive societal impact. 

Ideally, our candidates will have:  

  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in program management, donor relations, program oversight, and resource mobilization in the international cooperation sector. 
  • Capacity to foster cross-organizational collaboration and ensuring alignment with donor expectations and compliance requirements. 
  • A commitment to advancing anti-racism, equity, diversity, inclusion, and justice (AEDIJ). 
  • Functional bilingual skills in English and French. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills. 
  • Proficient with technology, including various software applications.
