Position Summary

If you are a creative and team-oriented annual giving fundraiser and leader, passionate about digital strategy, donor-centric communication, movement-building and advancing global health equity, we want to hear from you. With supervision of three direct reports, the Senior Manager, Annual Giving and Engagement will be responsible for driving PIH Canada’s annual giving and donor communication strategies to accelerate revenue growth and awareness in the Canadian market. The successful candidate is a strategic thinker with proven experience in multi-channel acquisition, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. Strong writing, project management and organizational skills are a must, as is the ability to use and analyze data to drive decision-making.      

Annual Giving & Engagement Campaigns (50%)

Plan and implement integrated direct marketing strategies to grow PIH Canada’s base of support among individual donors at the annual giving level – across digital, email, and peer-to-peer channels – in support of office fundraising objectives

  • Lead and execute fundraising and list-building campaigns from strategy development through to execution, including campaign briefs, timelines, data segmentation, optimizations, and KPI results monitoring
  •  Establish and maintain annual campaign work-back schedules and activity calendars, including integration of appropriate content generated from US-based coordination site resource generation branch
  •  Lead email marketing strategies and deployment; support development of donor journeys, which will include qualitative and quantitative analysis, establishment of donor value proposition and journey mapping
  • Implement cultivation and stewardship strategies to expand monthly giving and planned giving programs; lead monthly donor program, including donor retention, reactivation and upgrade activities·     
  •  Support major gift moves management processes to identify major gift prospects from within annual giving donor pool

CRM & Internal Systems (30%)

  • Through supervision of the Development Coordinator, support donor relations activities including gift processing, tax receipting, donor enquiries and ongoing stewardsh
  • ipOversee the creation and maintenance of database standards & business rules to maximize CRM usage and data integrity
  • Develop and implement processes to ensure regular system updates for database accuracy, de-duplication of records, record uploading, data extracts, and data analysis
  • Generate queries, dashboards and lists for various development department and organizational needs, including donor solicitations, event invitations, and stewardship efforts
  • Serves as day-to-day contact for a variety of vendors and support agencies
  •  Manage users and permissions for CRM and other platform users
  • Support development operations functionality for revenue reconciliation processes with finance department

Communications Integration (20%)

  •  Working closely with and providing supervision and mentorship for Communications Specialist and Social Media Specialist positions, ensure organizational communications and awareness-building functions are integrated into departmental strategic objectives  
  • Support development of integrated communications strategy for the organization across channels and departments
  • Ensure smooth and coordinated communication with programs team to leverage content from PIH care delivery sites for public engagement 

Preferred Experience and Qualifications 

  • Minimum seven years of progressive fundraising and integrated communications/marketing experience with a track record of digital creativity and annual fund growth
  • Self-starter and creative thinker with demonstrated ability to conceive and implement targeted list-building strategies; willingness to generate and test new ideas with data-driven evaluation mindset
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and Salesforce CRM and marketing automation platforms including Pardot, Google analytics, and digital marketing platforms 
  • Outstanding organizational skills: ability to plan, prioritize, and manage projects from creation to completion 
  • Committed and supportive team leader with natural listening skills, integrity, professionalism, and sound judgement
  • Strong interest in global issues and social justice, with ability to distill complex ideas into compelling narratives  
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends
  • French fluency an asset
