Support Officer
The Social Collective is a non-profit organization (NPO) whose mission is to develop and support community and social initiatives that meet the needs of students and young adults aged 18 to 35 across Turtle Island/Canada. The Social Collective is seeking to recruit a Support Officer. The primary role of the Support Officer is to maintain relationships with the Social Collective’s partners through regular communications. This includes reaching out to potential partners, presenting the Social Collective’s programs and initiatives, and tracking their interest over time. This position requires strong communication skills, the ability to build trust, manage and maintain relationships with partners, provide ongoing support, and identify collaboration opportunities.
The selected candidate must be available to start their role no later than November 18, 2024.
Key Responsibilities
- Contact potential partners from an established list in a systematic way, present the organization’s programs, and assess their interest by providing adapted and relevant information
- Provide ongoing support to partners by initiating the collaboration process, responding proactively to their requests, and offering personalized support
- Ensure meticulous and day-to-day updating of partner and program databases, guaranteeing the reliability and timeliness of the information
- Coordinate some aspects of the Social Collective’s programs (e.g. mystery customers)
- Contribute to the training of new team members and act as a reference point for anything related to partners follow-ups
- Contribute to the improvement of operational processes by suggesting adjustments to enhance teamwork efficiency and optimize organizational practices
- When needed, contribute to the deployment of the Social Collective activities with its various partners
Required Qualifications
- No prior education / experience required
Required Skills
- Autonomy and ability to work independently, managing time and priorities effectively
- Dedication to social issues and their impact on young adults aged 18 to 35
- Customer service orientated, with ease in making phone calls and writing emails on a daily basis
- Effective organization and data management
- Comfortable working with technological tools
- Adaptability and flexibility to meet the changing needs of partners and of the organization
- Good knowledge of French and English, both spoken and written
- Good knowledge means the ability to read fairly elaborate documents (e.g. newspaper, activity report), write simple texts, and hold an in-depth conversation.
Working Conditions
- Permanent, full-time position (30 to 35 hours per week)
- Working hours from Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with flexibility to work evenings and weekends, according to project needs
- Remote work, with occasional travel to downtown Montréal offices or to contribute to the Social Collective’s activities
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary depends on the experience and skills of the selected candidate. The annual salary scale ranges from $40,600 to $50,800 (class 2)
