Chief Program and Impact Officer, Global
PURPOSE:
The Chief Program and Impact Officer (CPIO) is a senior leadership position leading a global team responsible for strategic leadership and managerial oversight of all humanitarian emergency, disaster response, community development programming, refugee resettlement, and justice, and peace initiatives of World Renew within North America and internationally.
Considering World Renew’s current strategic plan and ambitions to increase our impact globally to end hunger, increase economic opportunity, and improve health, this CPIO will be able to lead transformative change, identifying how to build productive, agile and collaborative organizational teams, processes, and systems, seeking decisions that are evidence driven and favoring decentralized approaches, where possible.
This individual is tasked with ensuring the successful design, monitoring, evaluation, and learning aspects of World Renew’s programmatic partnerships (indirect implementation), and direct implementation efforts in a manner that reflects World Renew’s mission, Christian values, strategic goals, and objectives. As a member of the Global Executive Team, the Chief Program and Impact Officer (CPIO) joins other senior executives in collaboration with the Executive Directors in taking responsibility for strategy, culture, and leadership across World Renew.

Key Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Program Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive programmatic, partnership, policy and advocacy strategy that aims to “Imagine More” and sets us on a growth trajectory while recognizing areas that may need accelerating, realigning and/or exiting efforts in alignment with the organization’s vision, and mission.
- Collaborate with Executive Management to identify and interpret strategic priorities into clear and measurable objectives and develop program initiatives to achieve them.
- Assess and prioritize program opportunities based on their potential impact, feasibility, and alignment with organizational goals, considering a desire for global approaches and processes, yet allowing for increased localized decision making in support of decolonization, managing of funds, and seeking grants and resources locally (sharing power).
- Participate where required as a Key Decision Maker and ensure World Renew’s program processes and policies are fit for purpose.
- Motivate and support the country teams for a unified global vision.
- Ensure sustainable development and humanitarian assistance ( and possibly early recovery) and knowledge of when and how to use the different approaches to create maximum impact.
2. Program Management and Implementation:
- Lead and manage a globally dispersed team of Regional Directors and Sectoral Experts, involved in program execution.
- Oversee the implementation of programs to accomplish key missional objectives, ensuring regulatory compliance and adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Champion Quality Standards, Impact Measurements, Return on Investment considerations and working/learning groups, ensuring that World Renew’s work is of the highest quality, effectiveness and making a demonstrable global impact toward our strategic objectives.
- Monitor and evaluate program performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes, which may include exiting certain relationships and/or activities.
3. Stakeholder Engagement:
- Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including partners, donors, government agencies, church and other faith leaders, and community representatives.
- Collaborate with relevant teams and departments, primarily virtually to ensure smooth program integration across the organization.
4. Resource Management:
- Oversee the development, use and monitoring of the Global Program Budget in a way that is transparent, effective, and efficient (Stewardly).
- Maximize the allocation of resources to projects that deliver greatest impact and realize World Renew’s long term, strategic Goals, and objectives.
- Foster accountability both internally within teams and externally with partners and communities
- Seek and secure funding opportunities to support program initiatives through grants, sponsorships, impact investments or other sources.
- Review, contribute to and approve funding proposals submitted to high compliance donors, sometimes at short notice with critical turnaround times.
5. Reporting and Communication:
- Provide regular updates to the Executive Team and Board of Directors on program progress, challenges, and outcomes.
- Develop and present reports, metrics, and key performance indicators to measure program success and impact to internal/external stakeholders.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will oversee five Regional Ministry Directors across Africa, Asia and Latin America, Program Excellence Team, International and Domestic Disaster Response Team, and Sectoral Experts

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., business administration, international development, public administration). A master’s degree or higher may be preferred.
- Extensive experience in International NGO program management, with a track record of successfully overseeing complex projects and innovative initiatives, funded by an array of public and private institutional funders, church partners, and individual donors.
- Proven experience in strategy development, implementation, managing organizational development, and leading through change.
- Experience working and partnering in remote, marginalized, and vulnerable communities.
- Experience of both sustainable development and humanitarian assistance (and possibly early recovery) and knowledge of when and how to use the different approaches to create maximum impact.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
· Must be fluent in English. Fluency in additional languages would be advantageous.
· Ability to operate across a range of linguistic groups.

TRAVEL:
· Requires travel within North America for meetings and conferences, as needed.
· Requires frequent international travel, to visit field programs and facilitate staff development programming. International travel includes the possibility of destinations with rough terrain, unreliable access to water and electricity, and increased exposure to illness.
