Journalists for Human Rights - Logo

Since 2002, JHR has worked in over 29 countries around the world to train and engage local journalists, media outlets, civil society organizations, and other relevant stakeholders to strengthen and improve human rights coverage in local contexts.

By enabling media and civic actors with training, funding, and sharing of skills and expertise, especially empowering equity-seeking groups who are often underserved and underrepresented within media organizations, we are able to spur a positive impact on various areas of development. This includes promoting access to sexual and reproductive health by increasing local media coverage on SRHR issues, strengthening the relationship between media and CSOs to build awareness of women’s and girls’ health, and building media capacity to report on women’s and girls’ rights.
