Description

The objective of this program is to improve the overall well-being of vulnerable children, while also socially and economically empowering vulnerable and marginalized single mothers and other female caregivers, so that they can sustainably meet their and their children’s needs.

This program objective is achieved by focusing on three action areas:

1. Increasing the use of comprehensive early child development services, making them more accessible to vulnerable children and empowering caregivers to pursue an education or go to work during the day. This is done by offering free holistic childcare services at an SOS community daycare centre offering services such as health and nutrition care.

2. Improving parental care for vulnerable children by empowering women with skills development and business training.

3. Improving the safety of women and children in the community by strengthening the capacity of community-based organizations to prevent and respond to rights violations, including sexual and gender-based violence.
