Description

IDRF in partnership with the Childlife Foundation seeks to provide quality medicines and medical supplies to patients visiting Childlife Foundation’s emergency rooms in Karachi at the Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK). Pakistan has one of the highest under 5 mortality rates in the world and the highest in the South Asian region. As the majority of the population in Karachi resideS in low resource communities, private healthcare facilities are largely unaffordable and inaccessible for many who earn daily wages. As a result, many families resort to taking their children to unqualified medical practitioners where medicines available are either expired or fake resulting in patients consuming substandard medications. The Childlife Foundation provides a unique service for the people of Pakistan who are unable to access and receive treatment at private healthcare institutions. Through the procurement, stock keeping and disbursement of medicines, patients visiting Childlife Foundation’s emergency rooms can receive quality medical care.
